Ready to explore the terrain park? Intro to Freeskiing is an 8-week program for young skiers who want to build confidence, develop freestyle skills, and progress safely through terrain park features in a fun, supportive environment.

Participants train with the same qualified coach each week in small groups of similar ability, creating an encouraging atmosphere where every skier can learn at their own pace. Starting with the fundamentals, athletes develop the skills, confidence, and style needed to progress safely in the terrain park.

It’s the perfect next step for skiers who are curious about freestyle and want to see where their progression can take them.

Is This Program Right for You?

-Intro to Freeskiing is not a beginner program.

-Participants must be able to:

-Load, ride, and unload the chairlift independently

-Ski confidently on all Mount Southington trails

-Be comfortable using terrain park features

This program is ideal for skiers interested in freestyle who want to improve their skills before committing to the Mount Southington Freestyle Team.

Before You Arrive

-Helmets are required.

-Program fees include a lift ticket for each program day.

-Coaches provide personalized feedback throughout the program.

At the conclusion of the program, coaches assess each participant’s readiness to advance to the Mount Southington Freestyle Team. Families also have the opportunity to meet the coaching staff, ask questions, and learn more about the program.

If the child is not at the level required, they will not be able to participate in the program and the registration cost will be returned on a gift card.
