This is the original red barn that was part of the dairy farm that became Mount Southington in 1964. The downstairs of the barn has a recently renovated food service counter as well as the outdoor Café Express window.

Located at the base of the Thunderbolt trail, the floor to ceiling windows and vaulted ceilings in The Mountain Room provide a meal with a view. Equipped with a full-service kitchen and bar along with hot beverages, it’s the perfect place to wind down for a little apres-ski drink or bite.

Hours: Opens for the season in late December. Weekdays 3pm-close, Weekends & Holidays 10am-close.

Menu: Made-to-order waffles with toppings such as strawberries, chocolate syrup, powdered sugar and whipped cream.
