THE RED BARN CAFETERIA

This is the original red barn that was part of the dairy farm that became Mount Southington in 1964. It’s our signature gathering place with two floors and plenty of seating.


  • Hours: Open daily from open to close.
  • Menu: Cafeteria-style, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
THE MOUNTAIN ROOM

Located at the base of Thunderbolt trail, The Mountain Room’s lofted ceilings, immense windows and warm, rustic charm make it the perfect spot for a classic ski resort meal. It also features an Outdoor Grill on the patio.

  • Hours: Opens late December. 3:00PM to close weekdays. 11:00AM to close weekends and holidays.
  • Menu: Classic ski resort dining with full bar service.
  • Aprés-Ski music Friday and Saturday evenings.

THE OUTDOOR GRILL

Enjoy grilled goodness and great views of the downhill action on The Mountain Room’s open-air patio. It’s the quintessential ski experience.

  • Hours: Opens January. 11:00AM to 5:00PM weekends and holidays.
  • Menu: Burgers, hot dogs, brats, beer and more.
THE WAFFLE HAUS

That heavenly aroma drawing you toward The Red Barn is coming from the Waffle Haus, located slope side of the iconic red cowshed…and forever in your dreams.

  • Hours: 3:00PM to 7:00PM weekdays. 11:00PM to 7:00PM weekends and holidays.
  • Menu: Made-to-order waffles with toppings such as strawberries, chocolate syrup, powdered sugar and whipped cream.
